I read a ton of reviews and was impressed with the feedback of the Recaro Young Sport almost to the point of suspicion. Are these folks so blown away that so many 5 stars are given for a product as subjective as a kid's car seat? Many of the reviews were generalized and not helpful to me making up my mind based on facts from current owners. I won't claim they seemed like paid-for marketing because I don't know how that can be done, but I do wonder. I did actually make the purchase and it arrived today. The first thing I noticed was that there was no "cushy" foam in the back and only about 1/2" in the seat. All I could feel was the hard plastic behind the fabric after I removed the instruction manual. So much for "energy absorbing foam" the other top seat makers flaunt.... there is none here! 2nd, it does not recline as mentioned. It has a base with a 1-2 degree tilt...thats it! A recline to me is 20-30 degrees at least. I have yet to take my daughter for a long road trip in this disappointing, highly hyped car seat and maybe never will.

This is the only car seat that fits in the rear of a BMW convertible. (I have a 2004 M3.) (There is a large difference in the rear seats between the BMW coupes and convertibles.) I have this seat in black and my daughter absolutely loves it. It seems to be very confortable and well made. There are tons of adjustments so it fits her well.
There is a small pad over the buckle that fell off and flew away in the wind several months ago. It doesn't seem to matter. There is also a removable lumbar/seat pad that we removed when she grew out of it.
This is a seat that will grow with her - converting into a booster once she is big enough.
Recaro makes the regular seats in my car and has tons of experience designing seats in F1 race cars and many other racing applications - this seat seems to perfectly fit in line with their automative history.

Saludos comunidad, hice un amplio estudio y leí bastante los comentarios de los compradores de esta silla, y de verdad puedo ratificar que me párese extraordinaria, el material, el confort que brinda a mi beba de 1 año, así pues recomiendo a todos e incluso a venezolanos que la compre y incluyendo envío pague 1400bs. menos que una britax frontier que venden en el sambil caracas (4300Bs.) y de verdad que con solo tocarla y ver la calidad de construcción la Recaro es sumamente superior....

This seat is wonderful! Very well made and super easy to wash! My son had a HUGE potty accident in the seat and I was able to easily remove the cover, hand wash, and reinstall. Mildly time consuming...but at least it comes off! My sister was in awe...as all of her car seats do not wash.
Only con: It appears that my son cannot sleep well in the seat. He tends to wake up and/or sleep twitch in this seat. We do not use it for sleeping, but when we need to travel to the MIL we leave in the early morning in hopes that he'll sleep through the 4 hour drive.

Our son is almost 3 years old and has been in his Recaro Young Sport child car seat since his 1st birthday. This carseat is WONDERFUL. I cannot say enough good things about it.
My husband has a Subaru STI and wanted something to "match" when he heard he was having a son. I thought it was cute so I humored him. When the blue/black of the car seat exactly matched the interior seats of my husband's car, I laughed out loud. Normally something a woman would be looking for! ;)
The car seat is VERY comfortable for our son (who naps in it with ease on car trips), extra padding compared to other brands, and the safety rating is great. And even though it was a bit pricey, the fact that it last from 1 yr until he is 70 lbs and converts to a booster seat...I think it is WELL worth it. No hassle of having to buy a new seat as he continues to grow.
Read the reviews on this product and I think they will convince you that this is one of the best things to put on your baby registry!!
We are expecting baby #2 any day and I have registered for the pink version this time. ;)
