5 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!   June 8, 2010

First of all, I LOVE the Baby Jogger stroller. Second, I'm so glad that I splurged for the car seat adaptor! It is easy to put on and take off of the car seat. It is extremely handy for anyone who has a baby that falls asleep in their car seat. And in addition to that, I love having my baby face me when I'm out shopping. Great purchase.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointment - consider your other options   April 19, 2010

We have new twins, and made the investment in this City Select system. The stroller seems very nice but the car seat adapters are a total disappointment. They are poorly designed; our Grace Snugrides are a poor fit into the attachments. We have installed them correctly - an email with photos and 20 minute conversation with product support manager confirm this.
Design Flaws:
- they place the car seats farther forward than they should (could) making the whole unit longer than it needs to be and pushing the front car seat out of the front farther than it needs to be.
- attachment is very poor - the U-shaped brackets are completely the wrong shape you'd want to fit with a Snugride - I know this is a universal adaptor but our Snap N Go (see more below) does this substantially better for much cheaper.
- instructions do not provide any information about how to adjust the adaptor so that the proper fitting occurs between the black U shaped plastic support and the plastic fins on the Snugride. This required a call to BJ to confirm and I was told "we're in the process of revising those instructions to be better for the future."
- Even with conversations with Baby Jogger and photos, we can't get one of them to fully engage the spring loaded hook on the Snugride bottom with the metal bar of the adaptor - probably not a safety hazard because there are redundancies in the supports but BJ should be able to do much better for this price!
- the Snugride mounts in such a fashion that the lips/hooks/loops (whatever you call them - they are intended to secure the woven strap that goes over the top of the car seat) arent used and the adaptor strap goes awkwardly over a bulb of plastic on the side of the car seat - just shoddy design that should be better!

As I said above, we bought a used Snap N Go double to get us through the 2 months that Baby Jogger couldn't ship these adaptors because of some sort of production issue. For $29 it isn't perfect, and the City Select is a better stroller, but the attachment of the car seats is far superior on the Snap N Go and it is also a "universal" car seat fitting.

We're very disappointed to have spent $130 on the two adaptors, making about $800 for the whole City Select system, and we couldn't even use it for 2 months due to BJ issues with production and shipment (total of 3 months from time we originally paid for it). So we'll get a few more months use out of them but may still use our Snap N Go because of the more secure fitting ofthe car seats, lighter weight, and easier use.

This is my first experience with Baby Jogger, and they say this adaptor style is the same used on all their stroller for 3 years. I can't believe they can't do better for this price and that long on the market!

2 out of 5 stars Wish it would have worked better for me   February 5, 2010

I really, really wanted this adapter to work for me with the city mini stroller so I did not have to buy multiple strollers. I bought the Graco Snugride 32 carseat to go with it and even called the company to make sure it worked with this carseat since the directions didn't specifically say "32". The carseat fit into the adapter, however, the weight of the carseat with the baby in it made the stroller very unstable. If you just slightly nudge the stroller from the side, it will almost tip over. I never tried more than a slight nudge for obvious reasons but I would never leave the baby in it and not have one hand on the stroller for this reason. The adapter is kind of a pain to take on and off, but folding the stroller with it on is a pain because the bar will hit you in the wrist if you aren't careful and it hurts. I wasn't able to do the one handed fold with the adapter on because of how much it hurt my arm.

All in all, I really do like the stroller but since I didn't feel that using it with the carseat adapter and carseat, I did return it and buy a travel system and another smaller stroller that was less expensive than the city mini.

3 out of 5 stars It works, but do you need it?   January 31, 2010

I sent this back after I actually saw it. As other reviews note, it's $60 for basically a metal bar and brackets. I guess it's the kind of item where you want it to be overbuilt, but I also think the Baby Jogger folks know they have this particular market cornered.
We're thinking we'll generally rather carry in the sling or chest pack while he's still too small for the regular stroller, but I can't fully testify to that yet.
Finally, this rig is the same price as a new Snap n Go, and we were able to find one used (a Snap n Go) for practically nothing. I'm looking forward to using the stroller, but as for the bar it wasn't so much the actual money that made send it back as the sneaking suspicion that I'd been had. Maybe find another solution for the few months they can't just ride in the stroller.

5 out of 5 stars Great, helpful adaptor   December 13, 2009

The adaptor works great and is easy to install. It was well worth the money--I needed my hands free on a trip that involved the need to transport the stroller, car seat, and baby on a train by myself and without the adaptor I could not have done it. It's leightweight, too, so did not add much to my overall luggage load.
